Some Basic Rules of Choosing a Good Set of Archery Equipment

Sometimes you just need to take a look at the different archery bows to be able to improve your archery skills. Different bows have different draw lengths and weight. You will get different results form each new bow and you have to find one that would fit your draw length perfectly to be able to hit the target accurately over a distance.

Some of the archery bows are made of solid aluminum shafts. Others are created from carbon-fiber shafts. So you can expect to get different results when you use these different types of materials to create an archery bow and arrow.

Learning the Correct Stance

Developing a good stance is vital to be successful in archery after you have purchased a good bow and arrow to do the job. Learning the correct stance begins by holding the front arms straight out towards the object you targeting with the arms positioned at the level of the shoulders. Bend the elbows slightly.

Once you are in the right position, load the arrow and hold it with the hand with the fingers away from your faced. Snap the arrow on the string. Hold your front arm straight out toward the target. Your arm should be at the level of your shoulder with a slight bend in the elbow.

You would need to lock your elbows of the arm you are using to hold the bow in place. It is vital to have a good anchor point to do this correctly. The other hand that is pulling the string must touch your face at the exact same spot every time you position yourself to release the arrow. Adjust the length of the arrow. Now draw three fingers beneath the nocking point and raise the string up, just beside your nose. Your fingers should be rested along the chin.

You would need to adjust your sight on your bow function before you can use your bow and arrow to hit down the target form a distance. If you miss the target when you shoot, you need to lower the pin which would narrow the down range. Aim for a straight line and release! Let your fingers slowly slide off the string as you withdraw your hand. If you have done this correctly, the arrow will hit the target directly.
