my mac got stolen it was my friend so I smacked him
My MACBOOK was stolen is there a way i can get it back even though i din’t install any of theese softwares?

@sidoghosh dude they boot the laptop to get that data off the hard disk. 90% of the thieves aren’t interested in the laptop itself but on the information that is on the hard drive
neat idea but like everyone said, if you don’t have it already or they wipe the hard drive clean it’s useless.
I figured the manufactures would put this kind of thing in the bios or something.
@klaboem0 but where those reports and the software will be stored in the hardisk if there isnt any harddisk with what you gonna track.
@sidoghosh Imagine a stolen business laptop with loads of information such as plans, finance, reports etc.
the person whos gonna steal the laptop will surely use a screw driver a remove the hdd disk from the laptop’s backpanel ..making the software useless.

Its A program ! is a labtop diffent from a normal computer ? Nope just the size are the differences of them ! And power use !

@petrosmanowar1978 Not necessarily, there are many motherboards now where removing the cmos battery will not reset the bios. if you look closely at the battery and see a set of jumper pins in the immediate vicinity, you may need to set the jumper to actually reset the bios. if you have such a set of pins, there may be 2 or 3 of them. if 2, just set the jumper onto both, if 3, there is usually a legend next to them telling you which pins you need to set the jumper on to reset.

My laptop got stolen 2 weeks ago and they didn’t take the charger? Don’t know why? it was hooked on it while we were gone. can this software still track my laptop even thought it’s powerless??

to get round the bios password
take out the small battery on the mother board and it resets the bios
